This new rule for bank statements really sucks.

My bank, Capital One, does not provide physically stamped or certified bank statements.

Luckily I have an old bank account that I was going to close this year. I'm glad I didn't.

Apparently there is no new rule regarding stamping bank statements. Please ignore my post.

This was a rumor spread by a very unscrupulous youtuber called "Talks of Thailand". I was unfortunate to click on one of his click bait  videos.

In some countries the Thai consulate demands stamped statements, as it did since the inception of DTV. These are usually countries where banks still use stamps. US and UK consulates will continue to accept plain downloaded pdfs

I used the first page only of one month of my Capital One bank statement that showed the account balance. Approved in Washington DC in five days.

If you were sucessful a while a ago it doesn't matter. The new rules start today worldwide.

No additional documents. Applied on line December 30, 2024. They were closed the 31st and January 1st. Received DTV January 5, 2025.

I used bank statements from Capital One and got approved. You can go online and download the monthly statements. I just uploaded each month separately as a PDF & it was fine

That started a few months ago. Some banks don't have official stamps so informing the embassy of this was suffice. Some applicants included a letter/email from the bank confirming this. It is not related to the very recent changes

I believe that they have to be stamped with an official stamp or something like that or "digitally certified". I think the rule is so new it's still not 100% how it will be enforced and implemented . There was a massive overhaul to DTV reqs starting Aug29
