What should I do if my Non-O visa application is pending and I have a flight back to Thailand tomorrow?

Hello,
I'm currently in Vietnam and waiting for the approval of my Non-O (staying with Thai family/marriage) application. Right now it has been exactly 2 weeks ago, but still no update from the Thai consulate.

I already booked my flight back to Thailand before I did the visa application and it is scheduled for tomorrow.

So what would you guys suggest me to do in case it won't get approved before my flight of tomorrow?

Staying a bit longer in Vietnam to wait for the approval or already travel to Thailand on visa exemption (tourist)?

Also to mention: I stayed in Thailand earlier this year on visa exemption and extended that one with 30 days in order to get married with my Thai wife. So I guess the immigration will ask me some questions if I return back again to Thailand again as a "tourist.. Although I can show the marriage certificate and pending visa application

I got mine while staying in thailand, ive been coming twice a year using visa exemt and extensions. This january a officer at the airport let me in, but said i need to get a proper visa.

We got married at her home in march then i decided to get a retirement visa. Although ive had many visa free and extensions, immigration allowed me another this year, based on me getting the right visa for my situation. We used an agent and it was worry free, with lots of updates from our agent.

Agree 100% with John. Just stay and enjoy. Holidays in Vietnam also during that time. We are also in Vietnam waiting for the consulate response to application

Stay where you are until the process completes. Try and contact the consulate for an update, consulates seem more responsive to Facebook Messenger
