What are the ways to effectively contact the Thai Embassy in Phnom Penh regarding a pending DTV visa application?

How to contact Phnom Penh? I submitted and paid on 30oct2025, additional documents on 7nov. Since then, Pending Approval. I emailed them 5 days ago, no reply. I called several times, ringing, then hangs up. I can stay in Cambodia until 27nov and now getting concerned if I get the visa in time.

With current tightening of visa rules, I might get problems to enter Thailand on another visa exempt. What do IOs think about people who enter Thailand while their visa is processing? Fortunately I'm flexible in space and time, can extend my stay in Cambodia or go to Lao and wait until I get the visa. But I don't like the idea of traveling around without an idea if and when I get my DTV.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is experiencing delays in obtaining a DTV visa application submitted to the Thai Embassy in Phnom Penh, with the application still pending after multiple follow-ups. Community comments suggest that contacting the embassy via alternatives like Line or Facebook Messenger may be more effective than email, and that users typically wait several weeks for approval. Additionally, extensions for the Cambodian visa are possible, but can be costly. Community responses also indicate that traveling back to Thailand while a visa is processing may lead to complications.

Why don't you fly to Vietnam and wait there?

First, I wouldn't fly to Vietnam, but take bus from Phnom Penh to Saigon. Second, from Lao I can go to Thailand over land, which I prefer. At land borders, less traffic (except Poipet, now closed anyway) and easier to arrange something should problems arise.

Anonymous participant 201 This year, I have been in Thailand for about 5 months in 4 visa exempt entries. One is from 2024, that means I entered Thailand 3 times this year.

Ok. The chances are you'll be denied entry and put back on the plane to wherever you came from. You cannot keep abusing the visa exempt scheme and immigration have wised up to you. Get a proper visa if you want to live here. It's really that simple

I would suggest extending your visa. I did it a few years ago in PP through an agency. They asked for 150usd though because I only had a few days left.

I also applied DTV visa on October 5 in Cambodia. I just got approval email on November 20.

I had been waited for 46 days in total since the day I submitted.

I just stayed in Cambodia until Nov 9 as my Cambodia visa is expired. Then I just returned to my country and waited for the approval email. But still didn’t get any response from embassy until Nov 19.

On Nov 20, I just sent follow up message to Thai Embassy in Phenom Penh via Line Account. I got approval email 2hrs later after I sent follow up message.

Sending email to them is not working. They didn’t any reply on email.

If you want to follow up to them, I just want you to advise to send message via Line Account or call directly on phone.

You could try Facebook Messenger but whether you get them or not you need to stay in Cambodia until the process completes. Do not return to Thailand

From what others who applied in Cambodia have reported, it takes on average a month to get an answer.

My gf did on October 10th and still waiting. Unlikely that you will have it soon unfortunately. If you are in PP you can extend your visa or go in another country, in the rest of the country you can extend with agency but it takes longer to extend as they have to send everything to PP.

Good luck as 6 weeks and still waiting on our side...
