Hi, hope youβre all well π€ Iβm Australian and currently in Chiang Mai on the 60 days Visa Exemption and would like to apply for a 30 day extension. I was hoping someone could assist me please π
Is it possible to do this all online or do I need to visit an Immigration Office? If I need to do in person:
- which Immigration Office would you recommend?
- can I apply 2 weeks in advance?
- can I make photocopies of passport and take passport photos at the Inmigration Offices?
Thank you so much!

TLDR : Answer Summary
An Australian in Chiang Mai seeking a 30-day extension of their 60-day Visa Exemption is advised to visit the Immigration Office in person, as the extension cannot be fully processed online. While there is an eExtension service available for an extra fee, a personal visit is required to finalize the process and receive a sticker in the passport. The Chiang Mai office allows applications to be submitted up to 45 days before the current visa expiry date, and there are local copy shops for necessary photocopies and passport photos.
