Hi, hope you’re all well 🤍 I’m Australian and currently in Chiang Mai on the 60 days Visa Exemption and would like to apply for a 30 day extension. I was hoping someone could assist me please 🙏

Is it possible to do this all online or do I need to visit an Immigration Office? If I need to do in person:

- which Immigration Office would you recommend?

- can I apply 2 weeks in advance?

- can I make photocopies of passport and take passport photos at the Inmigration Offices?

Thank you so much!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking assistance on extending their 60-day Visa Exemption for an additional 30 days while in Chiang Mai. They wish to know if the process can be completed online or requires a visit to an immigration office, the recommended office, the possibility of applying 2 weeks in advance, and whether they can use facilities at the office for photocopies and passport photos. Responses indicate that the user must go to the office in person, can apply within 45 days of expiry, and that there are nearby copy shops for necessary documents.

Q. Is it possible to do this all online or do I need to visit an Immigration Office?

-> You have to go to the office in person. There is an eExtension service, and you can apply with an extra fee added to the official fee, even though, you have to go to the office in person to get a sticker on your passport on appointment date with eExtension service.

Q. which Immigration Office would you recommend?

-> It's more like depending on from where you go to the office.

Q. can I apply 2 weeks in advance?

-> Yes. The Chiang Mai office accepts extension applications within 45 days of the current stay expiry.

Q. can I make photocopies of passport and take passport photos at the Inmigration Offices?

-> There are copy shops around offices.
