Hello, I will be in Chiang Mai for 60 days before I apply for the 30 days visa extension. My question is when I apply for the extension, does the passport picture size has to be 4x6cm only or can it be the regular US passport picture size which is 2x2 inches?

Just go to the photo/copy shop at the rear of the main Immigration building near to Chiang Mai airport and pay 100 baht for 4 photos.

The Chiangmai IO instructions for a non O visa say either is acceptable so I can’t see why it wouldn’t be for an extension.

As a rule most immigration offices aren't that hard on it.

Snip the sides down so it's more a rectangle picture and it should be okay.

OR

most photo places offer 6 photos of the correct size for no more than 120 baht so getting a new pic isn't gonna break the bank either :O

Passport pictures are usually 4cm x 6cm in size. If you don't have any passport pictures, they are cheap to acquire here in Thailand.
