Does anyone know how to get an appointment to extend tourist visa? Can it be done online or do I have to go in person, schedule an appointment and come back on the day of the appointment? Is an appointment necessary for all types of visas including g marriage visa?

TLDR : Answer Summary
To extend a tourist visa in Thailand, you are generally required to make an appointment, which can often be done online or by phone, but it's advisable to confirm the latest procedures with your local immigration office. Some users mentioned that you need specific documentation and might need to go to a designated immigration location like Muang Thong Thani for certain requests. It's important to note that visa requirements can change frequently, so consulting directly with immigration or utilizing official sources is recommended.

just go to the office and start from there, I have never needed an appointment for immigration. plus, most of these eager advice givers here are lowkey filth getting hardons from disparaging others

Last time I checked (which I do once in a while ;)) this is the Thai Visa Advice - And Everything Else group meaning people can come here and get actual visa advice not just a bs, knee jerk answer of go to the immigration office ;)

Okay, IF you showed up here on a tourist visa that you bought from a thai consulate in another country before you arrived here and were stamped in for 60 days when you arrive IN BANGKOK you need to make an appointment to apply for a 30 day embassy request letter (and you need the letter from your embassy too) and you don't go to Chaengwattana you go to the Muang Thong Thani immigration location

You make the appointment on this website

Requesting Immigration information from anonymous strangers on facebook?????AAAAAAAhhhhhhh. How about Asking the people at the immigration office you would be applying at... The requirements can change from day to day acording to the mood of the people at the top OR any changes in the Covid situations. What was yesterday, can be tossed out the window, if there is an outbreak today,

this would be a useful answer IF they spoke good English, or IF they clearly and uniformly applied there rules. As neither is true, they are not a reliable source of information whatsoever. Glean what you can here and work it through

While knowlegeable folung do exist ( most noteably Ubon Joe on thai visa) they are outnumbered by those who are just wrong. Sorting those who know from those who dont is a krap shoot at best. Requirements are also office dependent . One office may be a gotta have requirement others, dont care. Best bet for accurate info is ALWAYS the office you intend to apply at.

on at least one point we do agree. Check with your office when you're getting an extension well before you're actually going to apply, especially with over 70 immigration offices in the country

BUT The O/P's profile shows they're in bangkok, AND they're applying for a 30 day embassy request extension so it's not brain science or rocket surgery to give them the correct answer

Request an appointment with your local office online or by phone and go to this appointment with the required documentation and your best smile. Good Luck :)
