Any advice on how I can extend my stay .I originally came on a 60 day Tourist visa to prepare for my retirement .My intention was to return to the UK and look at my long term options .However things have moved quicker than expected I've purchased a house car and motorbike etc opened my bank account with little fuss in Hua Hin ...I've now managed to obtain a 30 day extension .With the ever stressful process of returning to the UK and then back here with the various costs and inconvenience of quarantine I'm looking at starting my long term visa application while hopefully staying here in Thailand ..is this possible ?? Any advice from you good people will be very much appreciated ..or there maybe other options ..Thanks in advance xx

TLDR : Answer Summary
The poster seeks advice on extending their stay in Thailand after obtaining a 60-day tourist visa and a subsequent 30-day extension. They have made significant preparations for retirement in Hua Hin, including purchasing property and opening a bank account. Commenters suggest that the poster can apply for a 90-day Non-O visa, likely based on retirement if they meet the age requirement of over 50. They would need to transfer 800,000 THB to a Thai bank account for this application. Additionally, they should check with the Hua Hin immigration office regarding the specific procedures and requirements, as these can vary from other locations.

, you should also check with your immigration office to see how many days they require you have left on your current extension to apply for the in country Non-O visa. Most require at least 15 days left on the extension you're on now to do it. <- That's because it goes under consideration for 14 days before you go back.

IF you don't have enough time left on your current stamp apply for a 60 day covid extension BEFORE the 27th of Sept (the date the current program is expiring)

Heed the advice of Benjamin, that's your option to stay longer. Get your ducks in a row and get your funds into a thai bank account in your name and go apply for a 90 day non-O and then a year extension.

Read the post before responding people, the OP is using Hua Hin, NOT Bangkok. Different immigration offices have different requirements, sadly.

it is very possible to stay longer in Thailand, ASSUMING the Hua Hin immigration office allows you to purchase Non-O visa INSIDE Thailand. GO to the main immigration office and ask if they sell the Non-O visa based on retirement, and if so, what the requirements are (ASSUMING you are over 50!). If they do, expect the process to be as follows:

1. You'll need to transfer 800K THB in a Thai Bank account.

2. After the 800K THB is transferred in, get a bank statement, and acquire a Non-O visa at the Hua Hin immigration office. This will cost 2K THB. It MAY require a few days to get the Non-O visa (Bangkok requires 15 days), so do NOT delay.

3. The Non-O visa will allow you to stay in Thailand for another 90 days; when there is 45 days (30 days at some immigration offices) remaining, apply for a one year extension of stay based on retirement. This requires:

A. Your passport and a copy of:

i. Your data ("picture") page

ii. Your visa stamp

iii. Your Departure card (stapled in your passport)

B. A copy of the TM30 filed at the immigration office (Ask your landlord)

C. A bank statement showing the 800K THB was seasoned for TWO months.

D. A (VERY SIMPLE) hand drawn map to your house

E. The application forms (can easily be acquired at the local immigration office. Ask for the extension of stay form)

F. 2x passport size pictures

G. 1,900 THB

Get a 90 day non-o visa based on either married to a Thai or if you are over 50 based on that, gives you the time for your 800k thb to season for 2 months b4 doing a 12 month extension, in a nut shell
