Hello šŸ˜ Iā€™m currently in bangkok on a visa exempt stay here and would like to get the 30 day extension. May I know how should I go about getting it?

1) Do I have to make an appointment or can I just go to immigration centre?

2) Do I have to bring any particular documents to the immigration centre?

3) Is the extension immediate upon application at the immigration or do I have to wait a couple days for it?

TLDR : Answer Summary
To extend your 30-day visa exempt stay in Bangkok, you need to visit an immigration office, such as the Muang Thong Thani Immigration office. No appointment is necessary. Key documents include your passport and relevant copies, form TM7 for the extension, passport-sized photos, and the fee of 1,900 THB. Usually, the extension is granted immediately.

For the documents you will need:

Different immigration offices have different requirements, but all require the following:

1. Your passport and:

a. a copy of your data ("picture") page

b. a copy of your most recent visa (if you have one)

c. a copy of your most recent stamp

d. a copy of your departure card

2. The Extension of Stay Request form ("TM7"). You can find it in the "Files" section of the group (note: that form is accepted by Bangkok immigration).

3. 2x passport pictures

4. 1,900 THB.

hi, Iā€™ll be visiting the Muang thong thani immigration office tomorrow. I was wondering if the TM30 is needed at counter K? And what if I canā€™t provide it tomorrow - do I have to come back again to get it done? Thank you! šŸ˜Š

@Darrion ****
if you're asked and you can provide one you'll have to figure out HOW to file the TM30 before you could get any extension

you might be requested to show proof of where you're staying in Bangkok with the TM30 receipt from your hotel or where you're staying (but you might not).

The 30 day extension is granted on the spot and added to the expiration date of your current stamp

I see. Thanks for the info! What if I choose to stay at my girlfriendā€™s place or a hotel? Do I have to get a TM30 from her or the hotel manager?

@Darrion ****
, then she would file a TM30 or the landlord would AND if you're at a hotel you can ask the front desk to print you the screen grab showing they registered you

You go to the Muang Thong Thani Immigration office at this location

Just to confirm, you have a stamp that is letting you stay in Thailand for 45 days, correct?
