every thing in thailand is in one big mess, immagration, banks and even the local amphur to get a yellow book is a total hassle. I beleive its the changes to thai institutions fileing , it was once all paper work, stamps ,paper every where, now it is all being done on A I computers that are now linked, the paper work was never looked at ever again in the past . my cousin works on computers in bangkok he has had to go back to computer school to learn the new stuff, it will take time in thailand to catch up ,till then be prepared for NO CAN DO, and a smile, thats how thais get around the new problem , many are not the smartest peg in the basket ! ps even to get a international debit card update , try that one ,its all A I on the phone , its a real hasle

Who said? My renewal was January this year and they were fully cooperative with all the paperwork they gave me being accepted by Chiang Mai immigration. they did charge me an extra couple hundred baht for doing the paperwork.

The letter they won't produce is one listing the 12 month's transfers. They will still provide a letter certifying the account and 12 months bank transfers which along with copies of your updated passbook is all that is required.

oxleystreet you're leaving out a lot of information. My guess is that it was your first extension which you cannot use income for. Also they didn't cancel anything. Your permission to stay would've ended on its own.

my 5th extension. The officer at immigration cancelled that visa SO IT COULD NOT BE RENEWED. I was told I had to leave thailand and start again which I did so. Another armchair expert methinks, but being an Aggie, not surprising that you have NFI.

My first extension in 2020 WAS successfully processed based on income.

oxleystreet you didn't have a visa for 4 years already. There was nothing to cancel

oxleystreet so you didn't maintain the 800k (3 months) then 400k (rest of the year) commitment for your previous extension

oxleystreet For your current extension did you maintain the 800k for the first 3 months then never fall below 400k for the rest of the year while doing your 12 months of 65k international transfers? Probably not.

Graham Seal according to the regulations you have the 800K OR 65K income every month, you do not need both

oxleystreet If you used 800k for your first extension you comitted to keeping the full 800k for the first 3 months then never drop below 400k for the rest of the year. The 800k or 65k comes in for your subsequent extension having met the requirements and commitments for the first. This is either 800k again 2 months prior to application or 12 consecutive months of 65k of international deposits again, at the time of application.

oxleystreet yes, it is "or". But that shitty Google AI reply you dug out doesn't mention "or". The text insinuates you need both. It is holy rubbish.

Bangkok bank will not give any letter to show your monthly transfers. I was informed from immigration boss to change bank.

Denis Paradis Really?

I was thinking of doing the 65k a month instead of showing 800k in the bank annually.

I had no problem 2 weeks ago asking for a statement for the last 12 months in Pattaya..with Bangkok Bank

George. It’s no problem getting a 12 months statement from the bank. But, immigration wants a letter from the bank with stamps and all. Bangkok bank won’t give it to you.

Stephen Howell Why not?? If it is easy for everyone, no one needs agents at all. But for someone, things are so screwed up like this author. Yes it is stupid he got monthly income in right way but his bank does not provide that document for the immigration. so what shall he do??? What did he do wrong in this case?? His case is really thai style problem. 🤣🤣🤣

Bangkok bank in jomtien seems to have problems in this regard. I'd suggest you speak to the branch you use though and see what they say rather than what someone at immigration says.

just follow the instructions from immigration. Kbank or SCB is good choice. Maybe because Bangkok bank staff involved the scammers chain last year.

MagentaGoldfish4443 yes he can, but if he changed his bank to another bank, monthly income statement could not be accepted by the immigration, because some immigration officers do not allow to irregularly transfer the fund into different banks. Why? I do not know. in this case, his renewal will be rejected and must do it again from the scratch.

MagentaGoldfish4443 you still need the letter from the bank showing you have 12 months of transfers though
