Hi Everyone

My first year in thailand is getting to its end. For my non O visa i choose to lock 800k baht on my bank account.

I would like to switch to a monthly xfer of 65k.

Has any of you done it ?

Can i use all my 800k on the first month of new visa while making monthly xfer or should i wait 2, 3 months before spending that money ?

Thanks
Answer summary
A user is looking to change their NON-O visa financial proof from an 800,000 baht bank deposit to a monthly income transfer of 65,000 baht. They ask whether they can use their entire banked amount immediately after switching to the new method or if they need to wait. Responses indicate that while many have successfully made this switch, they must keep 800,000 baht in their account for 3 months after their extension, and they need to maintain the balance above 400,000 baht for the year. They can start using the banked funds once the next yearly extension is granted based on the new method, but must provide proof of income source and monthly deposits during the transition period.

Many people who are using the monthly income by transfer method go to their bank and get a "credit advice" printed out each month (or do it just before you go to the immigration office for the yearly extension)

That document shows the origin of the funds, I know a person who presents 13 of them every year when he shows up at immigrations to get his yearly extension and they accept them along with the bank letter, the year transaction report and his updated bank book

lots of people use this method but have you deposited ฿65,000 each month for the preceding 12-months? That's important

Just ask your immigration office what the procedure is as each office may have different ways of doing it

You will also have to prove to immigration where the 65K per month is coming from in writing from the source of the money. This is what they asked from me when I asked the same questions of immigration

Switching proof of funds from banked money method to monthly income by international transfer is a year long process.

You have to meet the requirements for the current extension you're on now (that you got with banked money) which is keep the 800K in the bank for 3 months after your extension is granted and then never let the balance drop below 400K the rest of the year

AND

you have to transfer in the required minimum of 65K baht a month, each month, every month for the next 12 months before you apply for the following extension.

Now the minute you do get the next year extension based on monthly income by transfer method you can totally use any or all of the banked funds. It's just that year when you're "switching methods" you still need to bank the funds as required
