Hey!

If applying in Jakarta, how long does the 500,000 need to be in your account for? Ideally I'd like to go sooner rather than later but the cash would only have been in my account just over a month. Many thanks 🙂

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a visa in Jakarta, the requirement regarding the 500,000 Baht in your bank account is flexible. The most recent bank statement is sufficient, and it doesn’t necessarily need to show the money being in the account for an extended period. However, having only recently deposited the funds may raise questions during the application process, so it's advisable to be prepared to explain.

Hey buddy, my immigration lawyer has just informed me that the tentative date for Indonesia to go live on their online visa submission will be 22 Oct. This was the message i received last week.

so without announcing it all the people that bought tickets wouldn’t know. How does the lawyer know before they announce it on website or Facebook page

Buying tickets to go to an embassy in a foreign country is a bit strange, certainly when you have no appointment.

The embassy in the foreign country is there to serve inhabitants of that country and people who stay there temporary. For those people it is not relevant when e-visa starts.

Why should they focus on the people with strange behaviour who get out of Thailand to get a Thai visa.

Your guess is as good as mine. I don't know. I just passed on a message.

ya your lawyer would be the only person on the internet that would know this information. Think your lawyer doesn’t know since I asked chat gpt to search entire internet and nothing comes up

@Eric ******
You really think chat gpt is completely up to date and finds everything?

I don’t know if he is correct. How can they not announce them changing on their website.

In Jakarta it doesn't matter how long it is in your account. The most recent bank statement is sufficient. However it does raise questions if you just have it a few days before the application. So be prepared to explain.

In September, while waiting there, I saw the woman there asking two applicants about the money they had in their accounts for just one month. I believe the money should remain in the account for as long as possible.
