TLDR : Answer Summary
The requirements for proof of accommodation when entering Thailand on a tourist visa may vary. Recent travelers reported that no specific documentation was requested upon their entry. However, if you have applied for a tourist visa, you may need to submit proof of accommodation as part of your application process. For those entering Thailand on a visa-exempt basis, the immigration officer may ask about your intended stay and accommodations, although it is not always enforced. It is advisable to be prepared with proof of accommodation, proof of onward travel, and proof of sufficient funds to avoid any issues during entry.

All depends on who you get. Best to be prepared just in case then you’re covered

Thanks Mark.I heard that for entry on tourist visa that one needs to show 60 days of accommodation including hotels tax number! it seems so unrealisitic, but so do so many other things right now! let me know if you had heard of such a request. Thanks!

don’t think that is necessary. If you provide the name of a hotel with address you should be fine. Hotel owners are responsible for reporting you for tm30. Just come over and spend some money

some people have not needed this, but i just talked to a Russian man who with his family recently entered Thailand on a tourist and he needed to provide proof of accomodation for 60 days. he said if you write 90 days then they reject the hotels contract as the the tourist visa is technically only for 60 days and so including your extension in the duration is not accepted! From my weeks of research it seems that one must be prepared for everything as it really depends of which officer you get.

If you applied for an actual tourist visa, you've already uploaded or submitted this information, in the form of a pdf file.

If you're just entering free visa exempt (not a visa) the IO might ask you how many days and where you're staying.

Although they rarely ask for 3 proofs, they can as they're required.

Proof of accommodation.

Proof of onward travel.

Proof of funds, 20k baht $ €£¥ in cash.

YMMV

YMMV = Your mileage may vary. Meaning it might not happen this way for each person.

TIT = This is Thailand. Things don't work here like they do at home and may not make any sense at all.
