Hi guys, I just got my non-o 3 month visa application approved this morning in Laos. It took less than 4 business days. And they accepted a letter certifying my retirement income from my pension fund, as the canadian embassy does no longer produces income certificates. I also had documents showing I had more than 800 000 thb in a bank account in Canada but I didn't need to show it. So it was easier than expected. Thanks to all of you who gave me sound advices.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user successfully obtained a Non-O 3-month visa while in Laos, utilizing a letter certifying retirement income from their pension fund, as the Canadian embassy no longer provides income certificates. Despite having additional financial documentation showing 800,000 THB in a Canadian bank account, it wasn't necessary for the visa approval. Commendations from other users highlighted the need for a stay permit after the visa period and potential requirements for extension involving local immigration regulations, such as showing funds in a Thai bank account and possibly needing health insurance.

Good for you. Just for your reference only. You got a visa, only for 90 days. so after that, you need permit of stay for one year from your local immigration in Thailand. Visa is issued from Foreign affair department, and extension of stay permit is issued by local immigration. Issuers are different and different requirements. maybe, when you extend, your local immigration requires 800,000 THB in Thai bank account. and maybe they do not accept your letter for pension funds in your country..
