Dear brains trust,

I have recently entered Thailand on an Non Imm multi-entry O-X visa. Bank account and drivers license all done, working on the yellow book currently. I would like to confirm the following:

1. When I travel out of the country for short business trips, I will not need a re-entry permit as my visa is a multi-entry visa....correct?

2. The usual 90 days in-county reporting applies?

3. I am required to report to immigration for a 1 year visa review (funds in account etc).

4. Bank balance required after the first year report to immigration?

Thank you for your time.

Kind regards, John

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking clarification on their obligations as a holder of a Non Imm multi-entry O-X visa in Thailand. They specifically ask about the need for a re-entry permit during short business trips, the 90-day in-country reporting rule, the requirement for an annual visa review, and the bank balance needed for after the first-year report to immigration. Community responses provide mixed insights regarding these requirements.

I went in after 1 year to do annual report on OX visa. But phuket immigration told me not necessary because I leave the country so if I leave the country not necessary to report

Not correct. Always have to do a TDAC regardless of visa status or length of time out of the kingdom

He was referring to the re-entry permit not the arrival card TDAC

lol no its not. Maybe you need to learn to read before commenting. A re-entry permit is not a TDAC. TDAC has nothing to do with visa and re-entry permits

I'm fairly certain you don't have to check-in at one year.

Correct i have OX. It's Multiple entry so no re-entry permit required and I have not had to check in after 1st or 2nd year. I have Always had my insurance policy with me incase they ask, which they never have. 5 year is when you go for the 2nd 5 years and they will check financial etc to make sure you conform to the requirements.

Are you actually planning on going for the 2nd 5 year? I read a report from someone who went to immigration with everything that should be required, including the 3 million in a Thai bank account, and they were flat out refused by immigration and told it's not possible.

I believe Tod Daniels said most people abandon the 2nd 5 years and go and get a new non-OX visa.

I checked the 2nd 5 year renewal with the immigration officer, no problems if you have maintained your required bank balance and Thailand based medical insurance. I realise alot can change in 5 years with regard to visa rules so I will remain optimistic but vigilant 😁

Which immigration officer? The one at your local office that you would be doing the extension with?

I will probably go the marriage visa or just the Non O as I will be retired fully when my first 5 years is up.
