I arrived in Thailand 29 March 2023, stamped in on that date with my 5 year non -OX visa stamped out 06 March 2028.

Require some info on a couple of points.

I understand that different immigration offices have their own requirements. I am in Patong and believe with this visa need to go to Phuket main office.

I believe 90 reporting should/must be done there as well or would Patong suffice.

As health insurance is a requirement of this visa each 12 months, is this treated the same as an extension each 12 months or do I just go to show proof of purchase at Phuket. If so the actual extension application would be prior to 6 March 2028. Need clarrification on that point please.

Lastly, when shoukd the 800K be deposited in my bank. Ie, 2 months before 1st 90 day report, 2 months before the healrh insurance report or 2 months before the 5 year extension.

Dosn't seem to be much info on this type of visa. Phuket airport had me wait until they checked it out as they were unaware of it. All happy and smiles with a welcome.I will go to Phuket town late next week to familiarise myself with it but at the moment if I need to get the money deposited it will have to be beforehand. Thanks for any advice. Richard

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, Richard, inquired about various aspects of his 5-year Non-OX visa, particularly regarding his obligations for 90-day reporting and health insurance in Patong, Thailand. He noted different immigration offices may have varying requirements and was seeking clarification on whether he needed to report at Phuket's main office or if Patong would suffice. Additionally, he asked how to handle the required health insurance renewal and when the minimum necessary funds (800K baht) should be deposited in his bank account in relation to his reporting and extension requirements. Several comments provided differing opinions on financial requirements, and clarifications about timelines for reporting and insurance obligations for the OX visa.

Attention Members... THIS member obtained his OX Visa from the Sydney Australia Thai Embassy. Their financial requirements for the OX Visa are unique and differ from other Thai Embassy's and Consulates. So the replies from Moderator to this Post are related to the OX Visa obtained from the Sydney Australia Thai Embassy.

Look at your home country Thai Embassy or Consulate website for their requirements for the OX 10 years (5+5)Visa for retirement.

You're also mistaken about the amount of funds you will need WHEN you get an extension it's not the 800K baht for the OA or O retirement visa

Unless I'm mistaken the minimum is 1.5 million baht in a thai bank account as you can spend 1.5 million of the 3 million baht you needed to show to get the OX visa issued

This goes over the rough idea of it

during this 5 year stamp you have, you should NOT have to show anything at the immigration office, and just do your 90 day reporting if you're in the country for 90 days

AND

You should be able to exit/re-enter and get stamped in for the whole 5 years you got when you entered the first time (you don't get a new 5 year stamp every time you enter, you just get stamped in until the original 5 year entry stamp)

and at the end of the 5 years look over the OX Visa requirements for it from the Sydney Australia Thai Embassy and see if they're STILL same as now. If so it may be possible to get a NEW OX visa from Sydney with no proof of FUNDS in a Thai bank account. BUT that's 5 years away from NOW. Enjoy your 5 years retirement in Thailand โ›ฑ๏ธ

that was NOT correct,

the requirements to GET the visa (that really low bar that sydney has to hand out that visa) have NOTHING to do with you getting the second 5 years off it <- which you do INSIDE the country at the immigration office by meeting the proof of banked funds and proof of insurance

you're a LONG way out from worrying about the 5 year extension you get on that 10 year OX visa, <- and in fact I have yet to even hear a single report of ANYONE who has done a 5 year extension on an OX visa yet ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

thanks Todd so where does the 800k fit in is it 2 months before the 5 year extension due
Tod *********
@Richard *******
it does NOT ๐Ÿ™ it's 1.5 MILLION baht

those squirrelly requirements that the consulate in Sydney makes you meet to get that OX visa have nothing to do with you getting a second 5 years out of that when this 5 year stamp runs down

You're fine you do NOTHING insurance wise or immigration wise but file a TM30 that you are at what ever address you're at and then do 90 day reporting and your first 90 day report is due 89 days from the date you stamped in (so June 26th)
