Hello :) I'll be arriving back to Chiang Mai from the UK at the end of October, and my plan is to enrol on a Thai language course with education visa starting in December which should give me enough time on the 30 day tourist visa on arrival for the paperwork to be processed and then leave the country after Loi Krathong to get the ED visa, just wondering best options of countries to obtain the ED visa from ? (nice place to visit/easy to obtain visa) I've been to Vientiane so many times to get my work visa when teaching i'd like to try somewhere new, plus I realise I probably need to show the flight out to somewhere on arrival into Thailand, appreciate your tips!! :)

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user plans to enroll in a Thai language course with an education visa (ED visa) and is looking for advice on the best options to obtain the ED visa from a new country after using a 30-day tourist visa in Thailand. They mentioned prior experiences with Vientiane for work visa applications and are interested in suggestions for alternative locations that are nice to visit and where obtaining the visa might be easier.

Your school is preparing all the paper works for you. Many school will tell you which Thai Embassy or Consulate you have to visit because the school know the requirements and prepare all for a smooth visit. As this is not a surrounding South East Azia travel Advice page I close this for commenting.

The school you enroll with will most likely advise on where they want you to apply for the visa

yes I should probably ask them :D but i'm sure from previous conversations thy are pretty open to where I go, so I thought a Poll could be useful as searching on here and other groups I couldn't find one

Your school will normally tell you where to go and address the paperwork accordingly.

Ok good point I will ask them again but I'm sure when I spoke to the guy on the phone a couple of months ago he was pretty relaxed about which country I went to
