Need expert advice. Can I do a visa run border crossing at Mae Sot on Thailand/Myanmar location to get 30:day Visa Exempt? I am looking to travel from Khao Kho/ Petchabhun and am presently on a 45 day Visa Exempt stamp expiring on Dec. 24 with U S Passport . Married to Thai National for almost 25 years. I Skipped the 60 day Tourist Visa hassle this year and plan on another 60 Day Thai Family extension next month at Thai Immigration Bangkok office. Please advise. Option 2 from Petchabhun to Laos\Vientienne if Mae Sot crossing not doable? But really want to see SUkothai and Tak province.😎
TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster is seeking advice on whether they can perform a visa run at the Mae Sot border crossing to obtain a 30-day visa exemption, given their current 45-day visa exemption is expiring. They are married to a Thai national and plan to apply for a 60-day extension based on marriage. Comments highlight that all land borders with Myanmar have been closed for over two years, making a border run to Myanmar unfeasible. Alternatives suggested include obtaining a non-O visa which could lead to a longer extension, as well as a mention of the possibility of traveling by plane to Myanmar.
