Hi

where is the cheapest place to do a border run and how long I have to stay out of Thailand for. I live in Sisaket. I'm here on visa exempt 30 days extended once. Can I just go to Chong chom or Chong ang Nam cross the border for for hours and return to thailand and get another 30 day visit exempt?

Any time I leave thailand by land I get another 30 days in the padt

When I return.

I always fly in . I haven t done a land crossing in 2 1/2 years.

I there any requrements ?

Thanks you very much in advance

I think chong ang nam its the easiest way...there go a bus from ssk bus station but i think only at tuesday and saturday, or crab a taxi its about 1h and cost 800-1000 baht. And you will get 30 days and that you can extend again at immigration in ssk. Immigration officer told me you can do 2 border run in chong ang nam and also 2 at chong chom. I was thinking youre the visa guru here in ssk😜

The rule, as in the announcement I posted as reply on earlier comment is 2 land border crossings a calendar year. This is for the whole border of Thailand. It is not 2 land border crossings at point A than 2 crossings at point B and so one.

You're close to the border near Chong sa ngam. Go there they will give you 30 days. There's only one casino on the other side so you can chill there a couple hours.

With a German passport you can do 2 border runs a calendar year to get the visa exempt entry for 30 days. There is no time limit to stay outside Thailand, you can stamp out, stamp in/out other country and directly return into Thailand.

Beware, I hold a SG passport, did land border run once, out of Thailand just 2 days and came back in only with 15 days stamp

Here is the announcement of countries eligible for 30 days Visa Exempt Entry, changed the rule on 1 Jan 2017.
