There are several companies that take people to the borders from bangkok for 30 day visa exempt entries or to activate another entry on a valid visa.

I'd say check with Thai Visa Service, they go to both the Cambodian border and the Burma border too.

To Cambodia? What is that process? I normally live in chiang mai so am unaware of best bkk options

first off you need to decide if you're wanting to do a "visa-run" where you go to a thai consulate in another country to BUY a tourist visa

OR

If you just want to border-bounce where you go to the border to get a 30 day visa exempt entry stamp.

There is no border where you can apply for a Tourist Visa. You have to go abroad, visit a Thai Consulate or Embassy, apply day 1 and pick up the next working day.
