What are my options for a border run from Kai Bae to Cambodia and back with a visa exemption extension expiring soon?

Hi everyone, I know this probably gets asked a fair bit so feel free to direct me to a post if it's already answered here.

My current visa exemption extension expires tomorrow and I plan to go from Kai Bae to Cambodia and back again on the same day. To save hassle, I was planning to just take a coach service but there aren't (at least currently) enough people so it seems the coach will not depart tomorrow.

So I was wondering 1 things:

1. I got quoted 3500 baht for a private car to do the journey. Would anyone else who needs to do a border run be interested in sharing that and splitting the cost? And/or do you know anyone who would do it cheaper.

2. The 2nd option is just to do the whole thing via sobgthaew and public transport. This is a bit less ideal as, currently, it can be hard to get a sobgthaew departing in a timely manner due to low demand. Also, I have heard that doing it by public bus can be quite stressful due to having to deal with potential scammers etc around the border. If I do it this way, does anyone have a reliable link for bus times etc so I can make a feasible plan about the time I would need to leave Kai Bae? Previous experience has shown me that it can be hard to get accurate information. Really appreciate any guidance, thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking options for a border run from Kai Bae to Cambodia as their visa exemption extension expires soon. They have considered hiring a private car for 3500 baht but are also exploring public transport options, although they have concerns about its reliability and potential issues at the border. Community responses suggest alternative strategies, including flying to nearby countries or using a visa run service to avoid complications.

the only warning that is needed, is for people who try to do a border bounce on themselves at the Aranyaphetet/Poipet border. You ware WARNED to use this border if you plan to do the border bounce by yourself

I honestly would try and find a flight to Kuala Lumpur for a few days. I must say that leaving a border bounce to the last day is a recipe for disaster.

get back to the Bangkok Airport immediately and fly out to either Vientiane or Kuala Lumpur, before you run into an overstay

you will run into problems trying a border bounce on yourself at the Cambodian land borders between Poipet and Ban Laem. You have been waiting too long! You should have hired a "visa run service" from Pattaya to a Cambodian Land border. They do it for 3500-4000.- THB and they "grease the wheels". You are running the risk not to be allowed back into Thailand if you try it by yourself.

If you live near an airport just get a cheap return flight to Malaysia, no visa required.
