TLDR : Answer Summary
To report the 90 days of stay in Thailand, you can do it as early as 14 days before the due date. For changing a 90-day Non-O visa to a 1-year retirement visa, it typically must be done at the immigration office, and many offices allow this 30 to 45 days early, depending on local policies. When applying for the retirement visa, ensure to use the correct form per your current visa type (TM.87 for a visa exemption, TM.86 for a tourist visa) and check if specific forms are required by your immigration office. The general requirements for a Non-O visa and the retirement visa are similar, but it's important to verify the specific requirements with your immigration office, as these may vary.

If You’re on a visa exemption you apply for a Non O visa on a TM.87, on tourist visa it’s TM.86. You’ll need 15-21 days left on your current stamp.

The requirements for a Non O and extension of stay is more or less the same. If you’re embassy doesn’t offer to give you a affidavit letter to confirm your income you’ll need to bank 800K baht in a thai bank at date when you apply (unless you apply in Jomtien immigration who demands two months seasoning). For the extension of stay the 800K baht needs to be seasoned for two months before you apply. Fees is 2000 baht for the Non O and 1900 baht for the extension of stay.

: Good morning! Do you know that 800K needs to be seasoned for 2 months or 3 months if I apply in Bangkok Chaeng Wattana? Thank you.

Good morning☕️. These are the requirements for applying for a 90 days Non O at the immigration in Bangkok. The funds has to be in your account at date when you apply. No need for seasoning. It has to be shown as an international transfer. For your extension of stay after 90 days the funds has to be seasoned for two months before you apply. (So you just leave the funds in your account if you apply for a Non O in Thailand).

Thank you for your explanation for Non O 90 days. For 1 year extension, how long money should be in bank account please?

For your first one year extension the 800K baht has to be in your bank account two months prior to the application and three months AFTER the extension of stay is issued AND it can never drop below 400K baht at any point.

If you want to apply for a new extension of stay you have to bring it back in 800K baht again two months before your next extension.

If you want to switch to the income method for your second extension of stay, you’ll first need to prove twelve months consecutive transfers of min 65K baht over sea, and the 800K baht is again free to use.

1) 14 days before your due date

2) that depends on your immigration office. Most offices allow 30 days early, but some allow 45 days early

3) check with your immigration office as some have a special form and will not accept if you print it out yourself

4) check the requirements of your immigration office. Not all offices have the same requirements
