I'm being told to go to the Cambodia to the Thailand Embassy; applying for an E-Visa will give me 90 days?

backstory

Been in Thailand since Dec 14

with free visa 30 days + 30 days = 60 Days

then given 7 days to leave.

Went to Laos for a week then back to Thailand.

Renewed once for 60 day total.

Now as I understand it, I must fly back into Thailand for another exemption visa, then i will be able to renew once

so repeat

or i can go to the Thailand Embassy in any country, but Cambodia being the closest to me and apply for a 90 day E-Visa

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking information on options to extend their stay in Thailand after multiple short-term visa renewals. They are considering applying for a 90-day E-Visa at a Thai embassy in Cambodia. However, comments suggest that E-Visas may not be available in Southeast Asia, and there are concerns about the user's history of consecutive stays without a long-term visa. Alternatives mentioned include flying back to Thailand for an exemption visa, doing a border bounce, or applying for a tourist visa in a nearby country. There's an ongoing debate about the likelihood of being allowed entry given the user's travel history.

Hope you get rejected.

Does it make a different if having a Thai license, address and a bank account. I get 30 but I want to stay a lot longer. I did go to Laos for that extra 30 but I don't want to be doing that

@Robert *********
no, it makes the difference if you got enough cash to buy an Elite visa ;)

Following this. Similar situation. Immigration told me today I must go to Laos next time for a 90 day, then apply for a type O while in the Kingdom.

Todd was blocked because Todd got a “needs improvement” under “plays well with others.”

and then they let you in....

@Todd ********
according to immigration, you need to have the 90 day in order to apply for the type 0

then take them. Because your comment makes it appear that you have no clue what you are talking about. Which appears to be true. 1- you got back in didn't you? 2. And you clearly have no idea what an O-visa is or how to obtain one. I offer the immigration lessons you clearly need. Carry on

@Todd ********
you can’t apply for any long term VISA while on a tourist VISA. I hope that was simple enough for your hateful self. Carry on

thats clear here

thank you

60 days tourist visa in Savannakhet should be easy to get, then you can extend 30 days, then you allowed another border bounce 30+30 days

@Daniele **********
you can't promise him that another border bounce will work after nearly 7 months in Thailand consecutively.
Daniele ***********
@Bart *************
it will be the 2nd entry of the year without visa so yeah it's almost guaranteed. However might be a better play to try an air entry first, then the tourist visa and let the guaranteed land entry as last resource
Bart **************
@Daniele **********
almost guaranteed? Far from that! 7 consecutive months in the country. Thai systems look further back than January 1st, and that he had a visa for 3 of those 4 months is also not relevant. What matters is the purpose of the visa: tourism.

The odds of being refused are higher than those of getting in.

@Bart *************
believe it or not, 2 land entry per calendar year are almost guaranteed
Bart **************
@Daniele **********
Believe it is not, that's absolute nonsense.

It's not that because you entered just once by land that they forget about your other travel history. Come on.
Daniele ***********
@Bart *************
there's a lot of things that doesn't make sense, it doesn't mean anything, it's just how it works
Bart **************
@Daniele **********
the two land entries are a maximum. It's also not true that because the maximum number by air is unlimited, that you can enter unlimitedly. After establishing whether or not you theoretically could be allowed enter, the IO will determine whether it's reasonable based on your travel history.

You can either go to a Thai embassy in a nearby country and apply for a 60 day visa which will take a few days or just do a border bounce for 30 days. Both can be extended by 30 days. Best not to fly back in and if doing a border bounce use a service to do it. Then it's probably time to go back home

Just go home you clown the bar girls Don't really love you.

hey that is mean. We do not discourage others form finding true love at the bars.
Jay *****
You can continue to do that but you have high chances that you will get rejected. From your records they will know that you are trying with border bounce to stay in Thai.
Todd *********
@Jay ****
he will... or more realistically, he won't. Nothing wrong with staying as long as you wish, but you will need to demonstate that you have the means and are not working at some point. Or use border service. Or fastTrack. Many go on for years. It's not the best idea, but many do it
Jay *****
@Todd ********
definitely he can. Keep on using border run to extend it.

None of the Thai embassies in SE Asia participate in evisa. You must apply in person only at the embassy.

You can still do another land border bounce without a visa as you're allowed 2 per year.

You're getting close to the point where they're going to pull you out of line (especially at an airport) and ask you what you're doing staying so long without a long term visa and potentially threatening to deny you entry this time or next time if you don't have a proper visa. You cannot live in Thailand on short term stays.
Toon **********
@Brandon ***********
can in South Korea. Only Asian location.

China and Japan too. But those aren't SE Asia.
