Update on Thai Embassy in Penang/Malaysia.

As of this week they’ve changed their processing times for visa applications.

Submissions can only be made in the morning and visa collection takes 2 days!

I have a very bad memory I was there five years ago to change my tourist visa to a student visa and they refused it! They told me in a very vulgar way that I didn't want to study but to stay in a position where I wanted to be in Thailand, But my tourist visa was already for six months multi-entries. I had paid for school in Krabi. A bad experience

Hi Peggy, would you mind telling me what they required for that visa? The Penang embassy website says they want a criminal background check from one's home country, health insurance, and 800k฿ just for the initial 90 day O visa. Is it correct that they needed those? Thanks!

Then i was lucky do visa last week wednsday all was smoth , morning give dokuments for visa ,nexst day at 14 pm pick up visa! At 31.01.

I remember doing this run between 1993 and 1996. Left it in went for a few beers collected it next day. Very quiet back then. Good Times.
