EVisa worked with minimal issues. The process was simpler before, but I would need to drive 1 hour. So overall it's a better process.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion focuses on the experiences of expats using the Thai eVisa system, noting minimal issues and a simplification in the application process despite some needing to travel for it. Comments include experiences with different airlines regarding eVisa checks and recommendations for visa services for those less comfortable with technology. Users also share insights on processing times, indicating variability based on the consulate and circumstances, with examples of 11 to 20 business days. A question regarding eligibility for Indian applicants is addressed, noting that the Thai consulate in India may not participate in the eVisa program.
LONG TERM RESIDENT (LTR) VISA RESOURCES / SERVICES
it took 11 business days for me using the DC office. My son's took close to 20 because they asked for additional info twice. The system isn't really set up for kids and doesn't let you provide additional documents you know they will ask for.
My friend had to use the LA office and it took him 15 business days.

Are Indians eligible to apply for a 60 days E-visa?
I don't think the Thai consulate in India participates in evisa

Nice! Going to try mine (for LTR visa) for first time in June. Which evisa did you have?

Ray BKK just an FYI I would recommend coming to Thailand as a tourist and getting your LTR once you're here. They'll give you that option once you're fully approved for your LTR. For a few reasons.
1) the price is much higher at the embassy outside Thailand because they use a terrible exchange rate. If I had purchased my LTR in the USA it would have cost almost $400 more than the 50,000₿ I paid in Thailand.
2) you get an actual visa in your passport which is easier for many reasons than carrying around a printed out PDF for 5 or 10 years along with your passport.
3) immigration officers are still not familiar with the LTR at all both at the immigration offices and at passport control when entering the country and having the actual visa in your passport makes things slightly easier.
thanks! But too late. I went the evisa route thinking it would be faster and easier, but it probably took longer than if I got the sticker :/ is there a way to switch to sticker if you already got the evisa?
For anyone in uk wanting to get a 60 day TR visa,. I’m not great on computer uploading docs/photos/forms etc, so I used a visa company who send you a visa pack you manually fill in, and also send your photos/fees back to them and for around £
*****
,. they do all the applications for you and you get your Evisa back via email,.I went to max spielmans to get all my photos and photo copies done,. I would use them again in the future if I needed an Evisa,.msg me if you would like name of visa company, as this site dosnt like advertising,.
you can mention the name of a company you have personal experience with. We just don't like people advertising across multiple posts or promoting their own business. But we don't remove information that can help others generally.

As a side note, EVA air didn't even glance at the evisa prior to boarding at IAH, but my friend flying ANA out of HNL had his thoroughly inspected his.
