What are the income requirements for the Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) in Thailand?

That is not how visa whereever in the world work, there is always room for interpretation, this is mentioned in the requirements. Basic requirements are published and very clear, but additional requests can be done as stated. That can be different for different embassies but also different within the same embassy for different applications. It is up to the employee processing the application to decide if the applicant qualifies for the visa. Nothing is wrong with process of Manilla, you seem to think somehow the visa application process is exact science and forget it needs personal assessment, and for that assessment they can ask you to supply anything they need to decide.

I doubt you know of another country which introduced an income requirement and didn’t publish it? There is no mention of it on central Thai government or individual Embassy websites. Rejecting applicants who fail to provide information not required or requested is diabolical. The fact that applicants claim to have been rejected by one country yet their same details were accepted elsewhere indicates inexperienced and/or incompetent processing staff.

but it's perfectly normal to have to show how you will support yourself. And every consulate can set additional requirements if they wish, they are basically independent fiefdoms

Providing they ask in the first place. Are you saying they would request further information and not simply reject the application? Each country setting their own individual additional requirements (plus price of their DTV) is fundamentally flawed where applications are accepted from other nationals.

‘Pretty clearly defined’. Agreed. Income details are not required. Looking now at Thai Embassy Manila DTV soft power financial requirements there is no mention of anything other than 500,000 THB. Thai Embassies shouldn’t reject applications for not complying with their own contrived and unpublished requirements.

Thanks! Haven’t seen this website previously. Just tried the online application check. It says I would qualify under soft power (Thai cuisine). However, it only asks about the 500,000 THB. No mention of proving income via six monthly payslips. Minimum income required is another matter. Known only to embassy processors and, no doubt, varies between countries!
