Does anyone know if it’s possible to be approved for a DTV without proof of employment. But proof of steady income in the form of disability. I know the retirement visa is a thing but I’m under 50

TLDR : Answer Summary
No, you cannot be approved for a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) in Thailand without proof of employment. The DTV requires you to either be a remote employee of a foreign company or engage in approved Thai soft power activities. While steady income from disability may demonstrate financial stability, it does not meet the criteria for the DTV. Additionally, having 500,000 baht (or equivalent) in a bank account is also necessary. Alternatives like medical treatments or courses may qualify under soft power options but do not allow for direct employment.

Look at the soft power options. They may want to see you have the ability to support yourself but no need to work. You just need the 500k baht in a bank account

Its a visa for remotely working tourists. Work is the keyword. And working remotely for a company that doesnt do business in Thailand.

One option though is medical treatment. If you can proof a longer going medical treatment maybe for your disability you might also qualify.

It used to be possible to get a retirement visa, under 50, if based on disability, in your home country, but it wasn't possible to extend it in thailand... Not sure if it's still possible, since they switched to e-visas

They're not looking for income. You need 500,000 baht (or equivalent) in a bank account. If you're not working remotely, look at soft power options, eg. Medical, dental treatment, or perhaps cooking classes

No, because there is no way to qualify for the DTV based on income. Your income doesn't matter. You're either a remote employee or you do a Thai soft power activity. Those are the only options.
