Hello everyone,

I just returned from a trip from Bangkok, this time I entered the country by land (from Cambodia with a cambodian passport) to visit some friends. As I remember from my previous trips I had a 14 days visa, but this time I’m a bit confused as of the stamps on my passport. Is it a mistake from the immigration officer ? Because the date mentioned on the stamp doesn’t make sense (18/03 till 16/05).

Kind regards.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster (O/P) expressed confusion about their entry stamp into Thailand, which indicated a stay from March 18 to May 16, after entering by land from Cambodia. They recalled receiving 14-day visas in the past and questioned whether there was a mistake with their current stamp. Community members clarified that recent changes to Thai visa rules have extended the visa exemption period to 60 days for eligible countries upon land entry. The O/P's stamp for a 60-day stay is considered correct under the new regulations, while previous 14-day stamps were applicable before July 2024.

And as the O/P noticed the two earlier stamps they got for 15 days (under the ผผ.15 entry code) were BEFORE the 15th of July 2024

AND

The two stamps they got AFTER that were both for 60 days 🙂

Conundrum solved 🙂 Good luck to the O/P

60day also from land border is ok

Oh well thank you so much guys for the confirmation. As a reference here is a picture of my previous stamps. I’m still confuse on why sometimes I get 14 days, sometimes more…

LOOK at those stamps and READ what I posted

you got 14 days when you entered BEFORE July 15th 2024 AND you got 60 days when you entered AFTER it <- that Oct 1 stamp until Nov 29 is 60 days

my bad, got it. Thanks

It looks like you have been granted a 60-day stay instead of the usual 14 days. This is not necessarily a mistake, as some land border crossings may issue 60-day permits under certain conditions or due to policy changes. You can verify your immigration status on the Thai immigration website or at a local immigration office to ensure everything is correct.

@Jordee *****
there is NOT usual 15 days anymore

People with cambodian passports get stamped in for 60 days entering by air OR land since July 15th 2024

Not only Cambodian.

However, in March 2025, the Thai government considered reducing the visa-free duration from 60 to 30 days due to concerns about illegal activities carried out by some visitors taking advantage of the extended stay.

Although this possible reduction has been discussed, the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarified on March 21, 2025, that no decision has yet been made.

@Jordee *****
which has abso-tively posi-lutely ZERO to do with the question the O/P asked on why they got stamped in for different lengths of time

AND

ONLY cambodia was a 15 day free entry country that went to 60 days on July 15, 2024

looks normal

well, you got stamped in for a 60-days stay permit, when you entered visa-exempt on March 18. However this stay permit now is void and expired, because you left Thailand on March 29
Bernard *****
sense : 60 days

Previously you only got a 15 days visa exemption if you entered by land or sea, but that’s back to before 2016. (30 days by air, but now 60 days at any entry points).

If you only got 15 days at an airport you could be among citizen only allowed to a 15 days Visa on Arrival who now since July 15 last year are entitled to a 60 days visa exemption.
Scott *******
You now get 60 days

You sure haven't entered thailand in a while by air OR land without a visa 😮

Since July 15th 2024 they went from 30 day free entry for 51 countries to 60 day free entry for 90+ countries (cambodia being one of them)

That's how long you get entering by air or land

Previously you only were entitled to a 15 days Visa on Arrival at the airport at 2000 baht. Since July 15 last year you’re moved to the 60 days visa exemption list together with 92 other nations.
