I am an Indian passport holder. Can I go to Thailand Visa free for 60 days and then go to Laos or Hanoi to apply for DTV visa?

I heard I can only apply for DTV visa from my home country. Is it true or false for an Indian?

In case I can apply outside of my home country, Do I still need to get the latest bank statement stamped from my bank along with the financial reference letter?

What are the other documents I need to prep from within my home country?

PS. I will be applying through the workcation route and my goal is to train Muay Thai.

TLDR : Answer Summary
An Indian passport holder can enter Thailand visa-free for 60 days. They can apply for a Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) at any Thai embassy or consulate, including those in places like Laos or Hanoi, which may be easier than applying from India. Regardless of where the application is made, a recent bank statement and financial reference letter from their bank is generally required. It's advisable to prepare required documents while residing in one's home country to avoid complications.

Why do you want to make it hard.

You need papers from your bank. So do it where you’re living / where you have your bank.

bro telling someone 'just read the website doesn't help'. My Visa situation has had many mixed responses and I want to make sure what exactly is the reality before I spend my $400. There's not a lot of info on Indian passport. DTV is new and doesn't always follow the hard rules from the website.

This Facebook Group is a great and informative FB Group, but, specifically for the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV), i would recommend to get more information at another FB Group centered around the DTV, and, you will find many Members and Moderators here also over there

1.) India passport holders can apply for a DTV E–Visa at ANY Thai Embassy/Consulate;

in fact, you perhaps may find it easier and more straightforward to apply at a Thai Embassy/Consulate nearby Thailand than in your "home country" of India

2.) India passport holders can make entry into Thailand with free Visa Exemption entry for a stay of 60 days per entry....

I just started saving the 500k baht in my bank account. As said by others- I would keep the money in the bank for 3 months. Though I wanted to get started with my Muay Thai training asap and that's why the 60 days visa free trip first.

For your nationality i believe it's better to apply from India and it's better to apply through soft power route otherwise you might get rejected and you will lose the application fees 400$ , you can try from other countries but the chances being rejected are high

why through soft power instead of workcation? I am a freelancer working with clients from the US and have their contracts.

Is it easier to apply through soft power? I heard from someone in this group that success rate is lesser for soft power and you have to still show income proof.
