As things currently stand, coming in on the 30 day visa, I’d need to quarantine in BKK for two weeks, right? After that I’m free to wander up to CM? No issues, if all my ducks are lined up to get the 60 day extension?

I’ll gladly get the vaccine even though I have immunity from the virus having had Covid. my doctor was happy to inform me I was tested positive. No one knows how long that immunity lasts from having had the virus.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Currently, if you enter Thailand on a 30-day visa, you will need to quarantine in Bangkok for two weeks. After completing the quarantine, you can travel to Chiang Mai if you have arranged for a 60-day extension. Additionally, if you arrive before the end of September, you may receive a 45-day stamp on a visa-exempt entry, and you can apply for a 30-day extension for an additional fee.

IF you get in before the end of September you get stamped in for 45 days on a visa exempt entry NOT 30 days. They increased it to cover the time you spend in quarantine.

AND

You can get ONE 30 day extension off your visa exempt entry at the immigration office for 1900baht

Good to hear they’ve extended it to 45 days. Gives me time to apply for the Non-O Retirement.

30 day extention unless you have Thai dependant relatives then it's 60 days

, For the last 7 years I’ve flown in and stayed 30 days, applying for a 60 day extension. My first visit I did was a 60 day visa.

I think you're confused. There was NO 60 day extension (other than visiting thai family) available before this covid shit show started and they came up with the 60 day covid extensions.

, I’m always open to be wrong, but… I’ve entered Thailand and after 30 days gone into Immigration, walked out with 60 more days being allowed to stay in the country. I really don’t think I hallucinated that:))

I really think you did hallucinate that!

yep, Tod is absolutely correct. Not possible to get a 60 day extension from a Visa exempt 30 day entry. As has been asked, show just one of the many you claimed to have been given. That will help clear it all up, or---oops, you're mistaken.

how about posting a photo of one of those 60 day extensions you said you've gotten the last 7 years you've flown in here?

Prior to the covid 60 day extension there was no 60 day extension other than the visit thai family one avaiable.

, you can actually read those stamps? How bout you showing me one of yours for 30 days so I’ll have an idea of what the extension stamp looks like? 555

@Bryn *******
it's stamped in ENGLISH and under the name of the office that issued it are the words "extension of stay permitted up to" and then there's a stamped or hand written date

It's a stamp that takes half a page in your passport. ..

Looks like this one

It's a 30 day extention on a visa exempt or a TV entry.
