How long can I stay in Thailand on a 60-day visa with quarantine, and when can I renew it for an additional 30 days?

Hello, I have a few questions:

1) I plan to visit Thailand on a 60 days visa in November and will have to quarantine for 14 days (or x days depending on the situation). Will I be staying in Thailand for 74 days or are these 14 days included in the initial 60 days?

2) I plan to renew this visa for an additional 30 days at the end of my initial stay. How soon can I renew this visa? Can it be done 3-4 weeks before the 60 day visa expires?

Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user's question revolves around the duration of stay in Thailand with a 60-day visa, clarifying whether quarantine days are included in this period, and the timeline for renewing the visa for an additional 30 days. Responses indicate that the 14-day quarantine likely falls within the 60-day visa limit. As for renewing, it generally depends on the local immigration office's rules, but applying for an extension can sometimes begin as early as 45 days before the visa's expiration.

The extension of 30 days will depend on your local immigration office. Some allow to apply for it as early as 45 days prior to expiration date... Others within 30 days.. And even now with the COVID situation some say apply within 3 days of expiration

If I enter on a visa exempt for 45 days, will it be possible to get a covid extension for 60 days if that is still in place?

most offices make you get the regular 30 day extension that you get from a visa exempt or a tourist visa entry FIRST and then allow you to apply for the 60 day covid extension

SO check with your office once you're here

If you really only staying in Thailand for 74 days, I suggest you enter visa exempt on arrival for 45 days plus one added 30 days extension from Thai immigration for 1900 Thai baht.

That's IF the visa exempt on arrival entry into Thailand is still 45 days. Check with the rules after September 30th... As it may revert back to the usual 30 days visa exempt entry.

so if I quarantine for 14 days, I will only get to spend 46 days of my 60 day visa in Thailand outside of the hotel quarantine?

@Soham ******
yes. And depending on where you are wanting to go inside Thailand there may be added up to 14 quarantine days upon arrival into some provinces cities and villages. Interprovincial travel is discouraged. Thailand is in the midst of a serious COVID spike and if you do come plan on staying in one place or area during your stay.

if you entered Thailand with a single entry tourist visa, you would be stamped for 60days at passport control upon entry, and quarantine days are included (if still there).
