What are the current insights and requirements regarding the DTV visa process in Thailand?

The approval of my DTV visa. I was never asked by Thai immigration to produce the DTV visa; they merely stamped my passport.

I paid less than 10,000 baht for the soft power (cooking class), but the price has already increased.

I got the DTV with Discover Thai Nature seminar series- Thai culture, agriculture, cooking. It took 4 working days in Manila (in March). I gave all the required documents plus a letter explaining my financial status and why I really want to do this course. The only thing they asked for was proof that I paid for the course, which has been included in my upload. I resubmitted just that page and had approval the next day

Discover Thai Nature is on FB or their website.

Immigration, I returned through Chiang Mai, had my printed copy of DTV, but the IO didn’t even look at it, took seconds to get my stamp.

Congrats. How much is the total cost, including the class, thevisa and maybe agent?

Strange the immigration officer didn't ask to see the print out of your DTV visa, I thought they needed to scan the QR code on all E-visas 🤔

When I handed them my passport, they checked their system and asked, "Are you using a DTV visa?" My reply was "Yes."

The embassy in Laos often requires bank statements of at least 500,000 for 3 months. Have you ever had this? Have they asked to show you your online bank?

@Лена ******
None of the requested paperwork was ever actually presented.

Анонимный участник Would it be too much trouble for you to write in a private message what kind of cooking courses from which school you did? Maybe they provided some financial guarantees for you?
Лена *******
Анонимный участник Surprisingly, almost everyone is asked about financial guarantees and they look at it personally through banking applications or certified papers from the bank

Thank You for your helpful report 👍

Congratulations 👏👏👏

PRINT OUT THE EMAIL THAT HAS YOUR DTV VISA.

That's what you should do... print it out.

You may have to show PROOF of your DTV Visa to airline staff on check-in for your flight ✈️ to Thailand...even to the connecting airline staff. Or to the land border crossing entry Thai Immigration Officer.

Upon arrival into Thailand, show the DTV visa to the Thai Immigration Officer and look at the STAMP placed in your passport to be sure you are STAMPED in for 180 days.

Don't forget - at any time in the next 5 years, the immigration officer might ask you to cook something before they let you into the country.

Hold it tight these visa are now all under scrutiny and they will be removing this visa kind this year as it’s been exploited especially by soft power etc. so you so far have luck on your side but now you are subject to audit and investigation so do follow the rules. Good luck

The current visa will remain in effect till visa expire, but new visas may soon be discontinued.
Sitg *********
Anonymous gonna be a lot worse than that but who knows along with the 60 day visa free they have stopped many extensions and a lot of border runs etc - don’t have to believe me I get no value from repeating what you should already know ffs

Normal tourist visas always change the term of stay based on the Thai government. Yet, because the DTV visa is a long-term tourist visa, they cannot amend it. However, they may discontinue the DTV programme and no longer provide this type of visa. The current DTV visa holder will be unaffected.

Anonymous any visa can be revoked

medical tourism as well

thank you!

Anonymous participant 695 soft power is easier because it is known to embassies. Workcation most of the applicants submit suspect documents so embassies are asking for more information and the applicants don't have what is required. But if you are a genuine digital nomad no problem.

@David *******
i am. Just my employer is not fine which showing which campaigns have created for our clients, bc its a privacy concern.

So rn its a back and forth really.

Its just funny bc workcation guarantees in many cases stable income compared to softpower

Make sure to check your stamp so it's 180 days and not 60.
Ron *******
@Steve ******
question if it was only 60 days what could one do to fix it? Im applying for mine tomorrow so just inquiring
Steve *******
@Ron ******
you're "supposed to" check the stamp before leaving the passport control at the airport, but if there was a miss, you could also go to your local immigration office and explain your situation. They might be able to help.

Or you could just fly out and in and get a DTV stamp 👌
