I got approved today in Hanoi, Vietnam! Soft power: 9-month Cooking School.

6/4 Application Submitted

6/11 Pending Approval

6/22 Approved

I got really nervous when I realized that we applied for the DTV before our extension expired, but maybe it was ok because we were there under Visa-exempt rules. I don’t know if that mattered, I’m just assuming

My partner submitted her application about 5 days after mine and it has moved into pending approval today. I hope she gets approved too, obviously because we’re partners, but her flight is in 8 days.

They did not check my income. I was honest that I have no income. I’m unemployed and writing a novel. My partner pays the bills. I don’t know how my agent worded it. The agency didn’t even tell them that the 500k thb isn’t my only savings. They said they would inform them if they asked about it. And they didn’t ask
