I just got my DTV visa as remote worker from Thai Embassy Austria.
They asked for further documents three times that were not on the list when I applied, such as cover letter. So it took me 1 month in total to get it.
My friends who applied for Muay Thai softskill DTV got it earlier.
So if you also have both options like me, maybe choosing softskill is easier.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user recently shared their experience applying for a DTV visa as a remote worker from the Thai Embassy in Austria. They faced additional document requests not listed initially, which prolonged their processing time to one month. In contrast, friends who applied for a Muay Thai softskill visa received theirs more quickly. Comments from the community indicated that the workation visa is easier to extend and doesn't incur extra costs, while one user noted receiving their visa within four days during Songkran. Tips on managing the DTV visa documentation, such as printing the visa confirmation email for travel, were also shared.
People are now posting about immigration checks at some gyms... Probably not the wisest move, especially knowing that even the gym wouldn’t bother covering for her and may even consider reporting it 😉.
For the extension in country immigration are asking for an updated letter. It seems to be the letter staying you are an employee and allowed to work remotely in Thailand. This is NOT being asked for in re-entry from trips abroad. There have been a couple of people posted about this recently. One in Krabi and one in Phuket
You may have to show PROOF of your DTV Visa to airline staff on check-in for your flight ✈️ to Thailand...even to the connecting airline staff. Or to the land border crossing entry Thai Immigration Officer.
Upon arrival into Thailand, show the DTV visa to the Thai Immigration Officer and look at the STAMP placed in your passport to be sure you are STAMPED in for 180 days.
