I am aware of the insurance requirements for Thailand being 10,000 dollars however with the likelihood that most people won't be needing it and it probably wouldn't pay out anyway and are just buying it to pass the Thai Pass , are there cheaper options that work than the near 100 pounds AXA asking for. I have insurance with revolut that's Allianz which is covered medical but doesn't specifically mention covid on the certificate.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Expat travelers to Thailand are seeking affordable insurance options to meet the requirement of having $10,000 coverage, especially for the Thai Pass. While traditional providers like AXA charge close to £100, cheaper alternatives like FWD are available at about 650 baht (approximately £15) for 30 days. Other noted options include using Revolut's insurance, which encompasses medical coverage, although it may not specifically mention Covid-19. Users suggest uploading relevant policy pages to ensure compliance. It's emphasized that insurance should not explicitly exclude Covid-19 and that many foreign policies exceed the required coverage limits for Thailand.
Hi James I am doing a border run for the first time due to have to exist with new passport. They don't issue extensions on new passports in Cambodia. What the cheapest with no hassle please
Your Allianz is okay for TP. They do no longer reject for not mentioning amounts, nor Covid-19. All (foreign) insurances nowadays have higher coverage than the Thai requirements.
Need to attach cover page with name and policy number, mentioning medical treatment coverage.
You can apply with it immediately to see.
In case of a rejection for whatever reason: buy FWD. Don't bother about the 14 days waiting time. It will be accepted as is.
(Note: There are a few insurances that explicitly exclude covid. You cannot use these.)
having said that, I managed to get a Smart Visa with the Revolut Premium account, and that required a 12 month insurance policy (it just meant I wasn't actually covered for much of 2021)
yes, I opened the account in 2020 to cover insurance for ASQ, I kept the Premium up since then, handy to have huh? Less than £100 a year, and I rarely travel for more than 90 days at a time
I used it for a year visa in 2020, when things were way more strict, and they were none the wiser (it didn't actually cross my kind at the time that it was for trips up to 90 days only)
I applied Thai pass and used the 650 baht insurance option,24 hrs later my Thai pass QR code was issued,it’s just a gateway in as mine and others QR codes were issued
okay thanks. I have travel insurance of my own and this would be Just to get a Thai pass. I can't have any delays as with have pcr until couple of days before travel.
