Hi all, I am trying to gain entry to Thailand (UK citizen) and have been in contact with the Thai embassy. They claim the following provide cover for covid-19:

1. Ideally, it should cover the length of your stay in Thailand

2. Some applicants submit insurance from Cigna, Bupa, Pacific Cross, Generali, AXA, which cover COVID-19

A bit of a long shot, but does anyone have experience with any of these /what were the costs?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A UK citizen inquiring about entry to Thailand has been in contact with the Thai embassy and learned that specific health insurance covering COVID-19 is required. Recommendations for providers include Cigna, Bupa, Pacific Cross, Generali, and AXA. Community comments suggest researching each provider for costs and reviews, with one individual noting they found coverage for around £650 for a year.

You can actually Google each company and read the reviews. Then you can contact them for a quote. Insurance premiums vary wildly depending on history and age, so any prices you receive here may not be for your situation

very good point. I have begun the process of contacting them for quotes, but didn't cross my mind there would be reviews online

. Google always carries reviews. Make sure you read plenty to get a good balance. Many people have one bad experience and set out to destroy a reputation, so keep an open mind

What visa are you applying for?

Thailand is now closed to foreigners unless you hold a work permit in Thailand and meet requirements for special permission to enter.

Non-b. My school will apparently provide (instead of a work permit) a letter from government agency

Good Luck. Go for it. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Submit your application and supporting documents with the Thai Embassy in your home country.

their letter of request needs to cite the urgency and importance you need to be at work.

it better! Fortunately for me they are not quick with paperwork, so the rules may change by the time I get it 😆
