TLDR : Answer Summary
Several users shared their experiences and recommendations regarding obtaining the required $100,000 insurance for entry into Thailand. Companies mentioned include Aetna, Seven Corners, AIG, Bupa Global, Regency for Expats, and Trawick International, with varied pricing and coverage options available. Many advised considering age and health when selecting a policy, as those over 65 may face higher costs or fewer options. Additionally, some discussed the potential changes in requirements and highlighted the importance of getting COVID-related coverage in their policies.

Highly recommend Trawickinternational if you just need it for your visa. You can fill out the info on the site. It will generate a price and you can adjust coverage to your needs. We paid around 50usd for like 500,000 usd in coverage. Also, you can immediately access digital print outs for your policy and a covid coverage letter.

Depends a lot on your age. If you are younger, there are lots of inexpensive options. If you are over 65, your choices go way down and prices are high. After 70, forget it.

So will health insurance for Covid-19 still be required after a vaccine is available, and if so, will the rates drop? Right now, they seem to be on the high side.

@John ********
why forget it? U can get anything with money.

@Ryan ****
when I was asking for quotes for insurance companies in Thailand I was told I had few options at my age, nearly 70, and after 70, most insurance companies would not start a new policy.

its not easy mate, again its always a money thing lol

I am over 70 now and I do have a policy with Pacific Cross and added the $100,000 Covid cover when I renewed my policy. If only I could get back into Thailand. I am just going on information I was given when I was shopping for insurance that would satisfy the requirements for a Non O visa. I imagine there are other plans out there for those my age and older, but I just looked at Thailand policies.

I used this company. I am 72 and got just what was needed for two months for under $300 with $500 deductible. Embassy quickly approved my repatriation visa and I send my passport with all the documents requested today. Was able to talk to someone to confirm COVID coverage and finished it online :

I like Seven Corners. Reasonable prices, if you want Covid to be included you have to buy their “plus” level. What’s great, is you can buy without a return date, and extend your insurance as needed.
