As a remote employee of a Canadian sales company, I am interested in relocating to Thailand while maintaining my current job. Would this qualify me for the DTV visa?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion confirms that a remote employee of a Canadian company can qualify for the Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) in Thailand. However, it highlights the need to consider time zone differences when scheduling work hours and mentions the importance of ensuring no direct sales with Thai companies to avoid taxation issues.

You might need a cast iron guarantee that you are cut out of any sales with Thai companies (to avoid your employer being taxed) or subsidiaries of Thai companies.

ya. But just work like 3 days per week

Wouldn’t recommend it. 5 hours difference to Europe is already a lot. Not much point just to save la couple grand for a lower cost of living. It’s gonna be too tiring for you.

Yes I usually work 9am to 7pm central time. So yeah I would have to work 9pm to 7am type thing. But my hours can be flexible

Absolutely, but if you have fixed working hours, mind the gap. When I went last year to Costa Rica for a couple of weeks, I had to work there from 2 am to 8 am (local time) every weekday, due to the time difference. It was horrible.

What about the time zone difference
