TLDR : Answer Summary
A British citizen looking to stay in Thailand for 6 months has several visa options. The safest choice is the 6-month multi-entry tourist visa, which allows for multiple entries without the risk of overstaying. Alternatively, one could use two 90-day tourist visas, making sure to exit the country for a short time (known as a visa run) before returning. The e-visa process is also available, offering a simpler application method for tech-savvy individuals.
a big boy's thing DTV. A 5-year visa for a 6-months holiday ? It takes a 10,000 THB minimum fee and a proof of 500,000 THB equivalent in your bank account since 3 months (plus many other requirements). A 6-months holiday visa can be gotten much easier
Sorry to jump in but if I wanted to do SEA for 6 months every year and definitely no longer would I be ok with a MET every year, probably at a month in Vietnam or Cambodia each year
the safest bet is the 6-months multi entry tourist visa, before you cope with the risk to be refused entry if you try to squeeze 6 months out of two visa-exempt entries
