TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has made several short trips to Thailand under the visa exemption scheme and wants to know if re-entering after these trips will pose any problems. Comments suggest that up until July 15, 2024, there was a limit of two entries; however, this limit has been lifted, allowing for more frequent entries by air. It is advised that while there is no strict limit now, repeated entries may raise questions from immigration officers regarding the user's intent to reside long-term without a proper visa. Users recommend confirming the latest immigration rules directly from the Thai embassy, as experience varies and regulations may change.

I guess you haven’t been in the group long enough to realise that what a Thai embassy posts about immigration rules for entering the Kingdom may or may not be correct.

Embassies sell visas. They control how and what they sell. Immigration control rules of entry.

Two different government departments.

Sometimes embassies have been known to give completely incorrect information.

all I can say is I have been in contact with the Thai embassy and have been told you can enter twice anymore you will need to get a visa before you enter for the 3rd time .

You are wrong, but since you only been in the group for a week, you haven’t read the many posts telling the 2 entry limit has been lifted.

It doesn’t mean, you can enter limitless on short time visa schemes, if it makes it more wobbly, since now you don’t know when a Immigration Officer decides that you are milking the system.

UK embassy has said that for years and it's always been wrong. No other countries embassy says only 2 times.

Your welcome to believe it if you want and ignore those who actually know it's wrong.

At some point they may ask you why you are using free ones and not getting a tourist visa. But now they are both 60 days? Will be fine with just short trips

@Paul ******
Why would he get a visa? He did stay mostly only very short. Way within the exempt limits without extension. He is realy not in any risk.

@Willem ***
I didn’t tell him to get a visa

There isn’t a limit on the number of entries you can do per year or time period using visa exempt entries.

That doesn’t mean you can live here indefinitely on exempt entries. If the immigration officer believes you are abusing the exempt entry system and trying to live/stay long term in Thailand they will either pull you aside and warn you to get a relevant visa or flatly deny you entry.

No problem , especially if you’re coming and going by Air .

When you leave regardless of dates , you will get a new leave date on your next return .. no problems ..
