What are the best options for submitting a DTV in Vietnam during the New Year?
Hey everyone 🙂
Flying to Vietnam this week to submit my DTV.
Don’t mind where to stay, Hanoi or HCM.
Flights to Da Nang are a bit cheaper, but I heard Hanoi Consulate process the applications a bit faster.
Anyone has any experience to share?
Thanks!

Answer summary
The original poster is seeking advice on where to submit their DTV application in Vietnam, choosing between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City (HCM), while considering flight costs to Da Nang. Comments indicate that all consulates will be closed due to the Vietnamese New Year celebrations, and suggest waiting until after February 3 for submissions. Additionally, there are recommendations to apply in the consulate based on the address of the hotel where the applicant will stay.

I believe technically you're supposed to apply in HCMC if you're in Denang. They will want your address in Vietnam so best to check on the embassy website and apply in the correct embassy for where your hotel address will be.

It's currently Vietnam new year so all closed for the week, better to wait until February but expect a delay due to a back log

Yes John is correct
Wait till February 3
Plus you can apply in da Nang to either HCMC or Hanoi. Only matters if you get requested for interview.

so you can stay in another town? It doesn’t need to be Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh? (Do a lot of people get requested for interview? I’m on crutches so probably best to stay in Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh?)Dennis *********

I’m not a expert but I think it’s a low percentageJohn *******

- Every province is assigned to one of the two consulates. I believe DaNang is assigned to HCMC.Dennis *********
