Hi guys. I am a bit worried. I came to Hanoi hoping to get my DTV Visa approved quick. However it's been 2 weeks since I applied (I applied dec 23) and I haven't received approval, and I feel kind of stuck here. What should I do? 😔.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user expresses concern about their pending DTV Visa application in Hanoi, which has not yet been approved after two weeks. Community responses indicate that delays are common, particularly around holidays, and suggest considering additional documents, alternatives like returning to Thailand on a visa exemption, and staying patient until a decision is made.

E-visa is NOT fast. I'd expect at least 15 business day, so excluding weekends and National holidays such as Dec 25th and Jan 1st.

Only count workdays, not calender days, then it is only a few days.

I submit

(LAX) and I'm still pending document check...

Every Embassy is different, in this case Hanoi.

Not comparable with LAX ( or any other Embassy)

cuz they’re onto your pts adroitness and quite scared you’re gonna bunk their system
somehow.

Maybe go back to Thailand on visa exemption and then if you’re approved leave the country and re enter on your new dtv

thanks for the advise 🙏

Not a good idea leaving the country you have applyed at, until the visa is approved, since it can be reason to berejected, and you loose the 10.000+ baht fee.

@Henrik ****
it says you have to be in the country, when you make the application. With your travel ticket back into Thailand you can prove you were in country of embassy when you applied.

Stay there until a decision is made.

What is your passport nation?

What purpose for the DTV visa are you applying with?

Workcation?

Muay Thai training?

Cooking school course?

Or ???

Plan around the holidays, or you should have applied in Taiwan before the 27th.

There is a list of nationalities that automatically take longer (4 weeks) for approval. Colombia is not on that list, so that isn’t the issue.

My DTV application took 4 weeks. What do you think ? Everyone rushed to apply for DTV all around Thailand, it was obvious that at some point there would be some delay isn’t it ?
Raphael ********
@Romain ***
5 days in HCMC Vietnam, 4 week is only in France. France is one of the slowest.

@Romain ***
it took 4 weeks at a thai consulate in S/E Asia?

- For certain nationalities, the Thai MoFA’s says it will take 4 weeks. Mostly African and some South Asian nationalities.
