Hi sorry if this has been asked before but my girlfriend is applying for a 60 day visa but our return flight is 79 days after arrival. We will leave to travel outside Thailand before 60 days but the embassy in New York is looking for proof of a flight leaving Thailand by then and we don’t have our plans yet. What is the best thing to do for her to get the visa? Also do I also need proof of a flight exiting Thailand before 60 days with a European passport?

TLDR : Answer Summary
To secure a 60-day visa for Thailand, it's essential to show proof of an exit flight within 60 days of arrival. Options include purchasing an onward flight ticket, booking a bus ticket, or using onward ticket services available online for a small fee. European passport holders also need to provide proof of an onward flight. Additionally, some advise booking a refundable ticket that can be canceled after arrival. It's important to be cautious and ensure compliance with the visa rules to avoid complications.

Search onward ticket

In addition to some of the suggestions above, you may of course Book a Fully Refundable Ticket, and then cancel after arrival (though you will need to wait for refund/credit).

Check which applies to your "EU" passport.

You only need to show onward travel. You can use a flight or you can use a bus ticket. One is cheaper than the other.

I used to byy bus tickets from Hat Yai to Penang to satisfy the onward travel requirement. (12go.asia is your friend)

If your photoshop skills are any good, you can alter the date on your return flight confirmation for the visa application and/or to show at immigration. Works every time for *ahem* ‘a friend’ 🤐🤐

Bloody horrible idea to advise people to lie in such a way to the Royal Thai Embassy. Wouldn't 'fool' the airline in any case.

Do sort your plans if you're planning on leaving Thailand within the 60 days of your TR visa-- even a bus ticket out should satisfy the Embassy requirement.

Bleeding foolish & a very slippery slope to ever lie to the Embassy, in my opinion.

Enjoy your holiday,

Cheers 🍺

Yes you need to show an outward flight within the 60 days. Bus ticket will do. No such thing as a European passport. If you want specific information you have to state country of citizenship, not continent

Google “onward ticket” services. Cost is approx $10. The embassy is asking for one and your airline will probably require one at checkin.

do I need the 14 days validity or just the one valid for the embassy and. A screenshot should be enough?

should do the trick and they send you a pdf of an actual ticket reservation. They have examples on the site - worked at BKK airport for me!

It’s also a legitimate reservation - it just expires if you don’t actually book it. I did mine the day before my flight 🙏

I couldn’t say for sure. I guess a screenshot would suffice for both.
