Can I extend my 60-day tourist visa in Thailand and how does applying for a Thai visa in Siem Reap work?

Hi guys, I have a multi faceted question, and if it's been answered feel free to refer me to the post!

So my family of three (New Zealanders) are here on a 60 day tourist visa.

We plan to extend that visa for 30 days and have a flight to Siam Reap leaving just before the 90 days is up.

We'd like to come back to Thailand for another two months after spending a week in Cambodia, and we have a condo here that we are renting.

Is it possible to get a 30 day extension on a tourist entry visa? Or is it possible to apply for and get a 60 day tourist visa in Siem Reap?

My other question is how long before our visas expire can we apply for the extension? Does it need to be close to when we they expire or can we do it much earlier?

Also what is required to take to the office?

Sorry for all the questions! Complete noob here! I did research online before coming but found it all quite confusing.

Thanks in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A New Zealand family on a 60-day tourist visa in Thailand can extend their visa for an additional 30 days at an immigration office, such as Chaeng Watana, after completing the first 30 days. They will need to bring their passport, a photograph, and some additional copies of passport pages. Upon returning from Cambodia, they can enter Thailand again using a visa waiver stamp, which can also be extended for 30 days. Alternatively, they can apply for a single-entry tourist visa in Siem Reap.

While you're in Siem Reap you could use an agent to take your passports down and get a single entry tourist visa from the thai consulate in Phnom Penh too if you wanted to do that.

Is this for the 60

Day tourist entry visa?

This is definitely the way to go.

I did it last week and all I needed was my bank statement, passport photo and onward flight back to OZ. It was around $54 USD, thus about a $14 surcharge for having the provided for me in Phnom Penh. I couldn't imagine it would cost much more than that in Siem Reap.

you can extend your 60 day tourist visa stay by another 30 days, THB 1,900.-, just passport, one picture and Immigration will ask some addl copies of some passport pages, like the departure card, visa, entry stamp. In Chaeng Watana you can apply for extension after your first 30 days stay in Thailand are completed. When you come back you can get a 30 day visa waiver stamp at either airport or land border, this you can extend by another 30 days at Thai Immigration inside Thailand. With your schedule it is OK to do this way.

Take the whole family to CW for the visa. There are always lots of restaurants there, a big indoor open area where the kids could play. Sometimes there are expos of stuff from provinces and everybody can poke around and see some of the differences between Thai regions.

On a 60-day tourist visa, you can extend in the last 45 days -- after 15 days from arrival) -- Only at Chaeng wattana. I did it and had 44 days without a thought about a visa.
