TLDR : Answer Summary
To apply for an E tourist visa in Thailand, you need to provide proof of your current location. Acceptable documents include your ID card, utility bills (such as electric or water), or a recent invoice from a local supermarket along with your entry stamp if you're staying abroad. It's important to ensure that the documentation clearly displays your home address.

It's very confusing and when I tried to pay the fee it would not let me do it, I never got any response so I didn't bother

Anything that shows your home address, a bill or anything like that

Is there a reason you are applying for a visa? Tourist visa is 60 days and visa exempt without a visa is also 60 days. A tourist visa isn't beneficial for most people who qualify for visa exempt.

Hi Brandon I want to play it safe, seems to be more and more warnings from using visa exempt to often. Yes it’s catch 22 !! I know

if you did a few recent visa-exempt entries, a 60-days single entry tourist visa doesn't mean anything to a border official. You can be denied entry even on a visa. It is no guarantee they allow you to enter

do you have a recent history of being in Thailand? If not then you don't have anything to worry about
