Hi all. I am currently applying for a DTV from Manila - my Thailand tourist visa which I got extended to 90 days expired 4 August. I am trying to plan ahead in case DTV is not approved. If not approved then I am thinking of flying into Bangkok, see if I can get a tourist visa stamp and then stay 30/60 days and then return to the UK once that expires. Should NOT get a tourist visa stamp upon entry back into Bangkok I am thinking of flying to Vietnam. Does anyone here have any knowledge of the practicalities of landing in Bangkok, getting rejected for a tourist visa and then being detained/help until an outbound flight is purchased out of Thailand? I do have a return flight for 18 October out of Bangkok to the UK but I would prefer to go an experience Vietnam for a month whilst I am in this part of the world and then take my scheduled flight back to the UK. For what its worth, AI suggests " One more option worth having in your back pocket: if the DTV is refused, you could also just fly straight to Vietnam first (skip the Bangkok test entirely) and enter Thailand later, if at all, on a separate trip with a cleaner-looking travel pattern — avoids a refusal stamp altogether". Thanks
