Hey guys I did a quick search but it didn’t answer my exact situation. My partner and I are on a 30 day tourist visa which will expire on Dec 19. We are currently on Lipe and are wondering what the best way to get the 30 day visa extension is. We have been told many people go to Langkawi overnight then come back or we could potentially get it done in Hat Yai on our way back to Chiang Mai on the 20th. I was wondering if it would be possible (and the cheapest option) to go to Langkawi on the 19th then continue on to Hat Yai on the 20th, via Satun? Also: my partner got a 30 day visa when she flew into Thailand for three weeks back in February. Any help appreciated!! 🙂

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the best methods for extending their 30-day tourist visa, which expires soon. They consider traveling to Langkawi before returning to Thailand to obtain a new entry or applying for an extension in Hat Yai. Comments clarify that the user has a visa exempt entry and outline the possibility of either traveling to Langkawi for a new entry or applying for an extension at Satun Immigration.

Sorry but this page is for Thai visa advice. How to travel low budget or how to stay as long as possible on an island without an Immigration Office are not Thai Visa related. You have to be legal in Thailand at all times, not only during the travel from and to an Immigration Office, If it does not fit in your budget or holiday schedule, you should have applied for a visa with longer stay before you made your way into Thailand.

You both have a so called 30 day Visa Exempt Entry, not a visa. You can go to Langkawi and come back to Thailand to get a NEW 30 day Visa Exempt entry or you can visit Satun Immigration before the 19th to apply for the 30 day Extension of Stay.

Okay I put together this to work out the costs for two people and have ruled out the Hat Yai one. My only question now is how easy is it to do the Lipe-Langkawi-Satun option? Do you think we will need to get out

@Robert ******
our stamps say December 19th- so do we need to re-enter Thailand before then? What would you recommend? We are both British, if that matters
