Hi , I need some advise please , I have a DTV visa and want to do a extension or border run to extend my 6 months again , what is the best way , and costings for all options , thank you in advance
Answer summary
The best options for extending a DTV visa in Thailand include doing a border run or applying for an extension at immigration. Many users recommend flying out to nearby countries like Laos or Malaysia for a quick return, especially as some land borders are closed. Specific suggestions include flying from Bangkok to Vientiane or Kuala Lumpur. Costs will vary based on your travel method, with flights generally being a preferred option for convenience. Users reported no issues returning on a DTV after border runs.

I have DTV too, definitely border runs are best, if you do an extension at immigration you have to provide all your proof again. Last run i did was Nong Khai, went to Loas for lunch and duty free, back by 1pm 👍
Head up to BKK and get a cheap flight to Vientiane with Air Lao or Air Asia. If you want to stay I can recommend Luang Prabang. You can fly from BKK to LP as well.
Forget the extension, immigration really don't make that easy. Your easiest border crossing is going to be a flight out of Utapao to somewhere like KL. It's a long haul from Pattaya to any of the land borders
