Hello,

I need to go to the main immigration office in Hua Hin for an annual extension of a non-O visa that I applied in France.

What are the best days and times to go?

I live in Bang Saphan, which is a three-hour drive away.

Also, my wife called, and they told that i need a witness!

Have you ever encountered this situation?

Thank you in advance.

i got the exact same request a few days ago. I think they just try to understand how are you going to support yourself during the DTV period, and you are not going to take employment in Thailand .

So I did a cover letter with ChatGPT help. I basically explaining my old job, my CV , why I want to learn cooking now, and I said I don’t plan to take employment and I will use my savings etc.

And visa Approved today! Good luck

No, but I used an agent that took care of the process for me. Paying an extra 6K Baht made more sense to me than the trail and error approach.

If not working provide your list of activities such as Muay Thai for the next 5 years and proof you can support yourself

For the five-year support, maybe put in a cover letter that you're not working remotely. If you have seasonal work in your home country for six months a year or so, put that in the cover letter. I doubt they're going to check up on something like that.

Did you do a cover letter with your application?

If it was me I’d use ChatGPT and I know there is a lot of good people on here with great information so you will get it sorted ✔️

Why use ChatGPT? When you apply for a 5 year visa I think you should have a 5-year plan, so just give a honest answer.

I was asked how I plan to support myself during the course. This is to show that you will not work while on the visa. I have monthly income that doesn’t qualify under workcation but was good for the soft power. I use ChatGPT with the letter to help with language and grammar.

What you mean with monthly income that doesn't qualify under workcation? Passive income or income you get from working in periods you are not in Thailand?

disability compensation from the government for injuries related to military service. They can see the deposits in my bank account but it doesn’t qualify under workcation because you need job contract. It’s the same if I apply for a retirement visa. It doesn’t count for monthly income qualification so I need 800k in a Thai bank so I opted for DTV instead. I found a cultural program with an optional language course which is actually practical if I want to live in Thailand long term.

it is hard, very hard, to get it certified by the US government. The visa lawyer told me to go the 800k route. The income route requires your income to be deposited in a Thai bank which I really dislike. I prefer the path of least resistance and to keep my money in a US bank.

I understand it is not income useable for DTV, but don't understand why it cannot be counted as income for retirement visa.

Just write how you plan to do soft power for 5years, courses etc. You could also explain where the money comes from for that period
