Firstly, thanks to everyone who helps run an informative and valuable forum. Hope you can help
Home country: UK
Thai base : Hua Hin
Funds : Appropriate in Thai Bank Account since 3 November 2018
Current Status : on 30 day exempt, entered 12 February 2019
Age: 50+
Intentions : I am retiring here in Hua Hin and want to convert my current 30 day exempt to Non O, and then apply for yearly extension.
Help please : Can I do this? Can I do this at Hua Hin Immigration? If I can what forms and evidence will I need to submit with the application for the Non O and then for the extension application?
I am returning to the UK in June for 3 months and may apply for the Non O Multi Entry that you have suggested to others allowing almost 2 years stay and multi "in and outs" which would help as I plan to explore neighbouring countries over the coming years
Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, a UK expatriate residing in Hua Hin, Thailand, is currently on a 30-day exempt visa and wishes to convert it to a Non-O visa with plans to apply for a yearly extension. They are seeking guidance on whether this conversion can be done at the Hua Hin Immigration office, what forms and evidence will be required, and the possibility of applying for a Non-O Multi Entry visa while returning to the UK for three months.
NON-O RETIREMENT VISA RESOURCES / SERVICES
Go to the Retirement Visa Section for information on requirements, including age restrictions, financial requirements, and necessary documentation.
For immediate assistance, contact Thai Visa Centre directly via LINE at @ThaiVisaCentre or Email them.

On request of Stephen Harris, if you have any more questions feel free to open a new topic, but with the hand out of Immigration Office it will be a walk in the park. Good luck.
Best is to make a visit to the Immigration Office in Hua Hin and ask this. Not every Immigration can or is allowed to do this conversion. If yes, you can take the hand out with requirements and if all done apply for the Non Immigrant O visa based on being over 50 years of age.
Cheers Robert - I will do just that and see what the position is. Thanks for super speedy response and again for the group which has helped me realise that following the due process is key to a smooth time in Thailand !
