Hi again,

Just got my work permit but have to ask for extension in Chiang Mai and I will be doing it on the last day of the visa. 

I have heard lots of stories about queuing. Is it the same for all visas? I am Non O volunteer. What time will i need to be there to be guaranteed I see someone? 

I don't mind waking up very early of course. Is there an agency i can use. Cost is not an issue at all.

I had a bit of help along the way. No mornings involved. Still, had to go back a second time with more docs and on one doc to change a spelling mistake. She said head office are so strict these days even a dor dek that should be a tdor dtao can cause trouble. I really think all that stress over the last few weeks gave me visa-hives:)I really do look like an 'alien' in Thailand how.

It is always the best idea to wait till the last day and walk in a minute before closing time, at least you are sure of 500 Thb overstay fines the next day if you miss out on the required documents. Go a few days early, it does not matter as your Extension is added to your current stay.

I was fortunate to get an appointment. But yes, could have been worse. Good job too as just came down with a very weird allergic reaction to something. Probably visa sickness...

There is a sign at front of each queue. It can be confusing. Ask people in queue.

If I remember correctly it is the same one as the tourist queue. There is a separate one for marriage visas. You have a different type of Non-O so please double check.

Major queues for all visas. I have a non-O retirement. You need to wake very early and choose the right queue.

Don't arrive later than 6:30 as you may not even get an afternoon ticket later than that.
